Further evidence of my lack of patience. Four inches of her gorgeous hair. Gone.
However, I have to say that I cannot stand any longer one more 30-minute brawl with the matted, gnarled, rat's nest that was the underside of E's hair. For some reason, it just wouldn't stop, everyday - no matter how much detangler I loaded on her hair. No matter how patient I was carefully disassembling each hair strand from another with a fine-toothed comb. I'm done.
And so, I did it. I cut her beautiful curls off... her perfect blond hair that's never been more than trimmed... I cut it WAY off. I'm strangely sad. I feel that same remorse that I felt when I did the same thing right after I got engaged 10 years ago ... I cut 10" off of my long hair. It grows back, I know. But still... should I have just suffered through the knots a little while longer for the sake of such prettiness?
The good news... she's HAPPY!! She's actually ecstatic! She throws her hands through her hair and shakes her head back and forth and giggles with utter delight. And Mommy is SO happy. Easy brushing. No knock-down drag-out fights with the little one in the mornings. Life is good.

She looks beautiful! She would regardless of how her hair looked though. :)
I can't cut The Bella's. We're discussing trimming it right now and she's wary of that. She has curls too, but because I have serious curls I guess I know how to maneuver them. :)
Well, she just looks darling! And as long as she likes it then it's all good. But if it makes you feel any better, I would have cried too.
oh wow! it's adorable now, it was adorable before. my 7 year old wanted her hair cut off, so we did it. it's in a wedge cut now, very short. it's adorable on her, but sometimes i miss the long hair. :sniff:
Been there. Done the haircut because of the tangles. Also have been relieved that the kid was happy. Now she doesn't want her hair longer. Plus, your daughter looks very lovely with that haircut.

Looks like you managed to snip the hair without cutting any of the cute :)
She's so cute. It's great that she loves it. I cut my little girl's "baby" curls off last summer and it's just SO much better. But she HATES getting it cut.
Just think of the money you'll save on detangler. She's a cutie!
What a cutie! She DOES look so happy. how did I miss THIS post? I am so retarded!
As long as she's happy, that's all that matters!!!
Though, I must say, I was SHOCKED to see that pretty pile of soft, golden curls on the countertop...
I think I may be taking a pic like that soon...my daughters hair also gets mangled and knotted.
Go momma!!
Her hair looks darling, she looks adorable with short hair. My little punkin' not so cute with short hair. Although i have only cut her bangs, she has done a few self hair cuts that have made me want to pull the rest of it out :-)
She's beautiful! You did a nice job cutting her hair.. and know that you are not the first mom to lose patience with the tangly hair.. I have a similar story with my oldest (now 17)... so long ago.
